She has also reached millions globally through high-level multimedia moderation, and speaking engagements on respected platforms such as the World Bank/IMF, United Nations, African Union, U.S. State Department, London Business School, George Mason University, and TEDx, and has authored 10 career, business, and leadership books.

Modesta holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Durham in England, and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at George Mason University in the U.S. She is also an Advocate of The High Court of Tanzania, Certified Executive Coach, Leadership Development Expert, Business Trainer, Human Resources, Change, and Project Management Professional.​
She also serves as a Board Director of The Joule Foundation, a U.S. non-profit focused on equipping African girls for STEAM-related education, and careers.​
Modesta is married to Mhando Philemon Mbughuni, and they are parents to two dynamic world changers.
Tabea Mbughuni

Tabea is an impact-driven strategist with over a decade of experience spanning the financial and professional services sectors.
While in the commercial banking sector, Tabea oversaw branch business, fostering client relationships and streamlining operations while crafting and executing branch sales strategies. She endeavored to cultivate a culture of operational and service excellence and deployed her interpersonal skills to coach and empower her team to deliver the same.
As a Senior Associate Consultant at Modesta Mahiga LLC, Tabea has led the business development strategy, which encompassed Management, Organization-wide, and Individual Assessment design, development, management, analysis, and reporting, for Silent Ocean, a global supply chain company with presence in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the U.S. She has also served as a consultant at Enea Advisors, where she worked on projects with reputable firms such as UNCDF, leading client presentations and providing scalable business solutions to Tanzanian fintech startups.
Tabea has an MBA from an MIT Sloan global program at Asia School of Business in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Boston, Massachusetts, US, and a BSc (Hons) in Business Computing from Staffordshire University, UK. Her international learning experience allowed her to work on projects with global, prominent firms such as Johnson & Johnson and Malayan Banking Berhad, devising marketing, branding, and ESG strategies.
Outside of work, Tabea enjoys journaling and reading memoirs and self-help books. She is a die-hard Manchester United fan and loves traveling and exploring new cultures.
Mhando Mbughuni

Mhando Mbughuni is a Global Communications and Public Affairs Specialist with 15+ years of experience synthesizing complex policy and organizational priorities into strategies and services that deliver triple bottom-line value.
He brings rich multidisciplinary approaches drawn from the private sector financial services industry, political and economic affairs at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, as well as small business and non-profit consulting both in the U.S. and Africa.
As a Senior Consultant in Project Management, Mhando is sought after for designing, developing, and deploying multifunctional organizational strategy and multistakeholder communication solutions that increase client visibility, credibility, and performance, thereby distinguishing them from other players in their fields.
Mhando holds a dual Master in Global Public Policy & Management from New York University and University College London and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Mzumbe University.
Karen Mayenga
Operations Consultant
Karen Mayenga builds and manages the structures and systems that support strategy implementation, operational excellence, and workplace efficiency. A self-driven, customer-oriented professional that prides herself in delivering policy, process, and people results.
Karen supports Modesta Mahiga LLC executives with communication and operations management, giving them the freedom to focus on their core deliverables.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Sociology, and English. She aspires to be a counselor and is looking forward to expanding her knowledge in psychology.
In her free time, Karen enjoys singing, spending time with her family, and watching true crime documentaries.
